Acknowledgement of Risks

I understand that Sophie's Home is an equine rescue facility and that visiting or participating in activities may involve risks associated with horses, other animals, farm environments, outdoor areas, equipment, and physical activities.

I understand that horses and other animals can behave unpredictably and may cause injury through kicking, biting, stepping on, striking, or knocking down a person. I also understand that slips, trips, falls, collisions, and other property or activity-related injuries may occur.

I agree to follow all Sophie's Home safety rules and instructions and will not approach, touch, feed, or handle an animal unless authorized.

Release and Assumption of Risks

I voluntarily choose to visit or participate in activities at Sophie's Home. To the fullest extent permitted by Texas law, I assume the inherent risks associated with farm-animal and equine activities and release Sophie's Home, its owners, employees, volunteers, agents, and representatives from claims arising from those inherent risks.

This waiver does not release or limit liability that cannot legally be released or limited under Texas law, including applicable provisions of Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code Chapter 87.
